What it is

Google's shopping tools in AI Mode and the Gemini app answer product questions with listings, prices and reviews pulled from its Shopping Graph of more than 60 billion listings. You can try clothes and shoes on a photo of yourself, track a price with a target budget and let Google buy when it drops, and since October 2026 keep items from many stores in one Universal Cart. Most of the agentic features are US-only.

Latest: Google launched Universal Cart in the US across Search and the Gemini app on 15 October 2026.

What the AI does

  • Universal Cart gathers items from many stores and flags promo codes
  • Google sells Sponsored shopping placements in AI Mode, marked with a small tag
  • Checkout, try-on and Universal Cart are US-only for now
  • Agentic checkout only works with participating merchants
