What it is

Alexa for Shopping replaced Amazon's Rufus assistant on 13 May 2026 and lives in the Amazon app's search bar, on Amazon.com and on Echo Show screens. It answers product questions, compares items side by side, shows up to a year of price history and can run scheduled actions such as adding an item to your cart when it drops to your price. It is free for signed-in US customers, with no Prime membership needed.

Latest: Amazon renamed Rufus as Alexa for Shopping on 13 May 2026, merging it with Alexa+.
