What it is
Microsoft moved Edge's shopping tools into Copilot: on supported store pages the Copilot sidebar compares prices across retailers, shows price history, sets price alerts and surfaces cashback. Copilot Checkout, launched in January 2026, lets US shoppers buy from participating merchants such as Urban Outfitters and Etsy sellers without leaving the Copilot chat. The shopping tools are US-only for now.
Latest: Microsoft launched Copilot Checkout in the US at NRF on 8 January 2026.
What the AI does
- Price comparison across retailers in the Copilot sidebar
- Price history charts and price-drop alerts
- Cashback offers while you browse
- Copilot Checkout to buy inside the chat
- Copilot Mode flags cheaper deals and active discounts
Pros and cons
- Price history and alerts work on other stores' pages
- Cashback offers appear automatically
- In-chat checkout with PayPal, Shopify, Stripe and Etsy merchants
- Free
- Most tools only work in the Edge browser's sidebar
- Checkout only covers a limited set of participating merchants
- US only
How it scores
Useful price-history and cashback tools plus real checkout, but they are spread between the Edge sidebar and Copilot chat and tied to one browser.
