Medicine made in space? Varda just raised $251M
Varda Space Industries announced a $251 million Series D on 30 September 2026, at a reported $1.6 billion valuation. It grows drug crystals in orbit, where near-weightlessness mostly stops the stirring and sinking that gravity causes, then brings them home in a capsule under a parachute. No space-made medicine has reached patients yet.
