🚨 Super Micro Just Hit $19.9 Billion in a Quarter — and Lifted Its Year to as Much as $82 Billion
Super Micro posted $19.9 billion in quarterly sales, up 298%, and raised its fiscal 2027 forecast to $72 billion to $82 billion.

Super Micro Computer just reported $19.9 billion in quarterly sales, up 298% from $5.0 billion a year earlier (Supermicro). The results landed after Tuesday’s US market close.
You already had a hint on the quarter: the company flagged $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion back on October 20 (Supermicro). The surprise tonight is the forecast.
The server maker now expects $72 billion to $82 billion for fiscal 2027. In August it said $65 billion to $72 billion (Pulse 2), so the new floor is the old ceiling.
⚡ What Happened
- Sales: $19.9 billion, up from $11.1 billion the previous quarter.
- Profit: net income of $1.59 billion, against $168 million a year ago.
- Adjusted EPS: $1.81, ahead of the $1.62 analysts expected (Proactive).
- Next quarter: $19.5 billion to $21.5 billion. Analysts were calling for $16.35 billion (Yahoo Finance).
Shares rose nearly 8% after hours, per Proactive. They needed it: the stock had fallen 27% in a month, per Yahoo Finance.
🧠 Why It Matters
Super Micro builds the racks that AI chips live in, so its order book is a rough gauge of who is still spending. That question has turned sour lately.
Yahoo Finance tied last month’s slide to an October 14 Gartner report predicting that 80% of neoclouds, the specialist AI cloud firms, will shut down by 2030. CoreWeave, a Super Micro customer, fell 40% over the same month.
Tonight’s numbers say the orders are still arriving. They don’t say those customers will earn a return on them.
Volume also isn’t the same as cash. Operations used $434 million in the quarter, and GAAP gross margin was 12.7%, down from 17.5% the quarter before. Super Micro is shipping a lot of expensive hardware on thin margins, and you can see that in the cash line.
🔜 What To Watch
Do the sums on the full-year range. Take the $19.9 billion just booked, add the $20.5 billion midpoint for next quarter, and our arithmetic leaves about $32 billion to $42 billion for the final two quarters. That works out at roughly $16 billion to $21 billion a quarter, so even the top of the guidance implies sales holding flat in the second half.
Either management is being cautious or the steep climb is levelling off. Next quarter’s guidance should tell you which.
Watch margins too. Mix drove the Q1 upside, the company said in October, and mix can swing back.
Details from the earnings call are still emerging.
