What it is

Google plans trips in two places. In Search's AI Mode, Canvas builds an itinerary in a side panel with flights, hotels, restaurants and attractions from Google Flights, Hotels and Maps, which you refine by chatting and share by link. The Gemini app also builds itineraries from Maps, Flights and Hotels data, and can pull your bookings from Gmail.

Latest: In August 2026 Google detailed how Gemini plans trips using Maps, Flights, Hotels and Gmail.

What the AI does

• Canvas itineraries in AI Mode combining flights, hotels and Maps data
• Refine by chat, then share the plan by link
• Natural-language flight deal search
• Gemini itineraries using your Gmail bookings, Maps, Flights and Hotels
• Restaurant reservations from AI Mode (US)

Pros and cons

How it scores

Unmatched real-world data and a capable free tier. Availability limits and features split across products hold back ease of use. App ratings are for the general Gemini app.
