What it is
Flow is Google's AI filmmaking studio for its video models: Veo 3.1 and the newer Gemini Omni Flash, which generates clips with native sound and edits video through conversation. It runs on the web and as iOS and Android apps, video generation is also built into the Gemini app, and developers can use the same models through the Gemini API.
Latest: Google launched Gemini Omni Flash at I/O in May 2026, rolling it out in Flow, the Gemini app and YouTube Shorts.
What the AI does
- Text-to-video and image-to-video with native audio
- Gemini Omni Flash conversational video editing
- Frames-to-video and ingredients (multiple subjects in one scene)
- Up to 10-second Omni clips; turn up to five photos into a video
- Veo 3.1 Lite, Fast and Quality tiers
- Gemini API access for developers
Pros and cons
- Google's Gemini Omni Flash tops the Artificial Analysis text-to-video leaderboard
- Native dialogue and sound effects in the same generation
- Free daily credits and a very cheap entry plan
- Same models on web, phone and API
- Credits run out fast at Quality settings and don't roll over
- Flow mobile app is young and poorly rated, with reports of failed or rejected generations
- Plans, credit costs and model names change often
How it scores
Best-in-class output and the strongest value thanks to free daily credits; ease held at 8 because the credit system and young mobile apps are confusing.
