What it is
Zoom's AI meeting features (formerly 'AI Companion') write meeting summaries, answer catch-up questions during a call, and include My Notes, a bot-free notetaker that Zoom says also works for Teams, Google Meet and in-person meetings on mobile. They're included with paid Zoom Workplace plans.
Latest: Zoom retired the 'AI Companion' name in June 2026 and launched ZoomMate.
What the AI does
- Automatic meeting summaries with action items
- Catch-up questions during meetings
- My Notes bot-free notetaker
- Custom summary formats
- Screen-share text captured into summaries
Pros and cons
- No extra cost on paid Zoom plans
- Native to Zoom, so no bot joins
- My Notes extends coverage to Teams and Meet
- Mobile capture for in-person meetings
- Admins must enable it and hosts start it
- Frequent renaming is confusing
- Automated follow-ups need the paid ZoomMate add-on
How it scores
Easy and bundled with paid Zoom; no independent accuracy test, so quality is scored conservatively.
