What it is
IKEA Kreativ lives inside the IKEA app and website. You scan a room with your phone, erase the furniture that is there and place real IKEA products to see how they fit, then keep designing on the web with the same account. It does not restyle rooms with generative AI; it is about seeing products you can buy in your own space.
What the AI does
- AI room scanning into a 3D digital twin
- Furniture eraser to clear existing items
- Place real IKEA products to scale
- Design continues across app and website
Pros and cons
- Completely free
- Every item is a real product you can buy
- Scans your actual room rather than generating a fake one
- Highly rated app used by millions
- IKEA products only
- No generative restyling or style presets
- Full-room scans need a LiDAR iPhone or iPad
How it scores
Free and grounded in real products, but it places furniture rather than redesigning a room, and only works with IKEA items.
